Figured genuine mahogany, wenge and hard maple laminated guitar neck blank.
The blank is made up of 11 pieces of wood. The center strip of figured mahogany is 0.64" flanked by 0.060" wenge, 0.060" hard maple, 0.060" wenge, 0.21" figured mahogany and 1" of wenge. We use a modified urea resin glue for our laminated necks. It is expensive, difficult to work with, but is the best glue for the application. It is a rigid glue and works great on tropical hardwoods. The three pieces of mahogany are sliced from one board, so the figure travels through the detail strips. We put a lot of effort into our laminated blanks to make sure they look good and will hold up for a lifetime.
The blank overall measures 30 X 3.59 X 0.92". I will supply extra pieces of wenge to widen the head stock.
The blanks are made up from kiln dried 8% MC or less stock. They are surfaced flat on both sides.
