Pomelle bubinga, wenge, flame maple and hard maple laminated guitar neck blank.
The blank is made up of 11 pieces of wood. The center strip of pomelle bubinga is 0.72" flanked by 0.060" flame maple, 0.060" wenge, 0.060" flame maple, 0.18" pomelle bubinga and 1.16" of hard maple. We use a modified urea resin glue for our laminated necks. It is expensive, difficult to work with, but is the best glue for the application. It is a rigid glue and works great on tropical hardwoods. The three pieces of pomelle bubinga are sliced from one board, so the figure travels through the detail strips. Same as with the 5A flame maple layers. We put a lot of effort into our laminated blanks to make sure they look good and will hold up for a lifetime.
The blank overall measures 30 X 3.76 X 0.93". If you need some extra matching maple pieces to widen the headstock just let us know.
The blanks are made up from kiln dried 8% MC or less stock.
